The rack mountable, 1U sized switch features innovative ROC (KVM over CAT5) technology that directly connects the Smart 108 IP to each server in the rack, eliminating cable clutter and providing up to 30m/100-Feet between the server and switch. The Smart 108 IP (8 port kvm switch) is a perfect fit for businesses that have a number of offices in disparate locations, and for businesses that are planning on expanding. The Smart 108 IP supports the highest security standards for encryption (256-bit AES and HTTPS) and authentication of remote users. The Smart 108 IP offers the option of exclusive mode, where users can choose not to share sessions with any other users. With the Smart 108 IP, administrators can configure user access rights, with advanced OSD management that has multi-layer security for both local and remote users. As an out-of-band solution, the Smart 108 IP lets users connect directly to servers at the BIOS level and offers access and control over mixed platforms, including PS/2 and USB devices. The Smart 108 IP also supports multiple platforms for client computers: Windows OS (with Internet Explorer or Firefox) and Linux OS (with Firefox).

Requiring just 1U of rack space, the 0SU70032 features a rugged housing, premium connectors and superior functionality to ensure trouble-free operation in demanding high-availability environments. The 0SU70032 can control sixteen servers/computers directly and is compatible with both PS/2 and USB connections using Tripp Lite 0SU51078/0SU51079 server interface units with inexpensive Cat5 patch cables (Tripp Lite N201-Series). Built-in IP access capability enables servers/computers to be controlled from any location via LAN, WAN or Internet.

No server-resident software is required, so server performance and reliability are never compromised. Upgradable firmware fine-tunes compatibility with emerging standards. Servers are connected to the switch using inexpensive Cat5 patch cables (Tripp Lite N201-Series), reducing cable clutter and conserving valuable rack space.

The 0SU70032 supports both PS/2 and USB connections (Tripp Lite 0SU51078/0SU51079 server interface units and N201-Series Cat5 patch cables required; sold separately). Because compatibility is based on common hardware standards rather than system software dependencies, almost any platform can be accommodated and you can connect multiple versions of multiple platforms in any combination.

The 0SU70032 is designed to ease multi-server management in data centers, server rooms and other high-density environments. An advanced on screen display (OSD) with high-resolution video up to 1600 x 1200 provides a graphical user interface with a variety of management tools. Users may also select a connected computer using on-console pushbuttons or keyboard hotkey commands.

The 0SU70032 provides secure IP remote access to connected servers/computers without requiring additional rack space. IP remote access enables system administration, BIOS-level troubleshooting, GUI application installations, equipment reboots and more to be accomplished from any location using a standard Web browser. Multiple users are able to view remote sessions simultaneously, and remote control can be transferred between users with appropriate permissions.
